Hanif Shahzad is an artist who captures the spirit of the world around him. His work includes a series of the country’s historic monuments as well as an extensive coverage of the majestic Mohatta Palace, Karachi, impressive in the dawn light and in the golden shades of sunset. The artist’s paintings of Karachi bring the bustling city to life. He appears to capture the essence of the street life, and the unexpected grandeur of the silhouettes of old building outlined by the cheerful lights of shops and street lights at night. He is also renowned for his landscape paintings capturing the moods and beauty of nature. He has numerous exhibitions to his credit, including exhibitions abroad. He is a long standing art teacher of the Rangoonwala Cultural Centre.
