Recipient of the President’s Pride of Performance Award, Mashkoor Raza has proved himself a dynamic, prolific painter whose work has been acclaimed in many countries
of the world. The artist has several signature subjects but in a variety of moods his sublime sense of design, colour, form and space set him apart. His versatility is
exciting including cubist structured abstract works with the emphasis on shades of white. His oeuvre also includes calligraphic art experimenting with line and
texture; and then there are his horses. When Mashkoor paints impressions of galloping horses, manes and hoofs flying, they appear about to gallop out of the frame. The
artist has also worked with figurative narratives, fragmented forms gracefully juxtaposed with symbolic suggestions and contrasting elements.
