was born in the year 1956 in Karachi, Pakistan. His Paintings are available at Clifton Art Gallery
Since his childhood he started drawing. He would draw anything people that he has met or saw while growing up. He started showing his skills as early as when he first learned to hold a pencil. He started with charcoal. He started drawing on brighter surfaces. The lure of the pure white washed walls readily and visibly available as a convenient surface at all times was strong and irresistible. It was an invitation and a temptation that was difficult to overcome.
Moazzam Ali has chosen a few constants for his painting, the female figure and the cultural heritage of Pakistan being the main themes. He has linked his images to the Indus Valley Civilization and chosen Thar as the spot on which he focuses. He has selected the female form as the most colorful and the most representative of the life of Thar. He views the female as a mother figure, a giver of life and a protector.
He has been commission by President’s House, Prime Minister’s house, Governor’s House, Embassies, consulates, Banks, Five Star Hotels ( More than 600 original watercolor paintings commissioned by Sheraton Hotel to grace their guestrooms, corridors, restaurants etc.) Art Museums, Organizations and Art Collectors adding the commercial gloss to his work that made them highly acceptable to his admirers.
He Joined Karachi school of Art after his matriculation. He was also doing multiple jobs and also getting education for bachelors. He topped among the graduates of the province in 1980 and received a gold medal for securing the first position in Fine Arts.
He worked at two colleges as the Principal and with his administrative abilities made them into smoothly running ventures with the student population rising continuously. After his continuous visits and stays abroad he stopped working in any office and in 1995 he became a full time professional painter.
